The planning, analysis and design of a web-based management information system for the marine metrology inspection vehicle laboratory was introduced. And the system was developed by adopting the technologies of Browser/WebServer,JSP,JDBC and JasperReports. The structure and subsystems of the information system were elaborated as well as the relevant technology, safety strategy, and implementation and operation mechanism. The discussion focused on the demands, resolutions of the system and the outlines of database and programme design.
