文化的不同类别或不同层面对文化基本特征的形成、维系具有不同影响力。文化的不同类别或不同层面,有不同的发展、传播规律,有不同的比较、评判标准。文学艺术的不同风貌,是不同民族文化差别的核心要素,是体现民族文化特征的主要标识。文学艺术的发展,不能简单借用科学技术"先进"或"落后"来评判,也不能套用"进化论"作简单评析。鉴于文化艺术在民族文化中的决定性作用,加强民族文化遗产特别是民族优秀文学艺术遗产的保护、传承,发扬民族优秀文化传统,是实现"文化自觉",进而确保"全球一体化"格局中本民族文化地位和安全的关键一环。

The different types and levels of culture have different influences on the formation and sustaining of a culture’s essential characteristics. They also have different development, diffusing patterns, and different evaluation standards. The styles of literature and arts are the core elements of national cultures. The development of literature and arts cannot be judged by simply using the scientific terms 'advanced', 'backward', or the Evolution Theory.Due to the crucial function of literature and arts in a nation’s culture, strengthening the protection and inheritance of national cultural heritage, promoting cultural tradition are important steps to take to achieve cultural self- consciousness and to ensure the integrity and standing of national culture in the globalization.
