2010年1月11日,一年一度的香港法律年度开启典礼举行。香港法律精英济济一堂。香港举行法律年度开启典礼,回顾、评估和展望重要法律命题。开启典礼当日,终审法院首席法官首先检阅仪仗队,为仪式揭开序幕。在典礼进行时,终审法院首席法官、律政司司长、香港大律师公会主席及香港律师会会长都会相继发表演说。《中国法律》本期精编这四篇讲辞。
Judicial Independence and Role of the Judiciary
It is now over 12 years since Hong Kong entered the new constitutional order as part of China under the principle of ＂one country, two systems＂. During this period, judicial independence has been universally recognised and accepted to be of pivotal importance to Hong Kong. The constitutional guarantees for an independent Judiciary have been fully implemented. Further, conventions and practices which accord with iudicial independence have developed.
