A Practical Model of Chinese Modern Drama Popularization——the Significance of Farmer Drama Movement by Xiong Foxi at Ding County

1932—1937年的河北定县农民戏剧运动无疑是演剧大众化的杰出代表。由熊佛西主持的这一农民戏剧运动不仅强有力地回应了左翼戏剧界"演剧的大众化"的呼号,而且以其标举的"新式演剧法",深刻地表达了对业已成形的演剧模式及其代表的不平等社会的颠覆。

Theatre movement of farmers at Ding County of Hebei Province during the 1930s （1932-- 1937） is an outstanding model of popularizing Chinese drama. This theatre movement managed by Xiong Foxi powerfully responded to the slogan of ＂theatre popularity＂ of the left wing theatrical circle. Moreover, its sign ＂new style acts＂ expressed profoundly subversion to the pattern with formed act and the social inequality represented in it.
