This paper systematically summed up relevant experience on clinical application of Shudihuang as the main series of Traditional Chinese Medicine prescription drugs, generalized the main points of clinical syndrome whether shudihuang is applicable and the forming knacks of similar formulas include shudihuang. The article narrated clinical thinking on using of Shudihuang and other similar formulas of Professor SHI Suo-fang in the basis of outlines such as tonifying the kidney and replenishing the essence, nourishing the kidney and invigorating Yin, replenishing Qi and Yin, nourishing the lung and the kidney, tonifying kidney and activating spleen-energy as well as warming Yang and activating kidney. Furthermore, the text listed several clinical cases to review the success and failure. In brief, this essay is expected to provide some academic and practical references for use of shudihuang during Chinese clinic.
