桐城派纪游散文体物达意不乏情趣,章法严谨不伤性灵。"三祖"之一的姚鼐更是在简短的景物描写中创造出晶莹澄澈、透润无瑕的艺术境界,展示了其"道与艺合,天与人一"的文学主张,于"小文章"中引出了"大题目"。

Journal proses from Tongchengpai depict objects and express ideas vividly but attractively as well .They are often strictly organized without losing natural interest. Yao Nai, one of three most outstanding forerunners especially got a great achievement, creating a perfectly crystaly arts environment through picturing scenery briefly, which rightly shows his proposition that not only Dao and skills should combine but also heaven and human should equal.
