认知语言学实验研究与理论建构的关系——以英汉时间隐喻研究为例

On the Relationship Between Empirical Studies and Theoretical Construction in Cognitive Linguistic Researches——Take Case Studies on Temporal Metaphors as an Example

从对认知语言学领域里有影响的实验研究案例分析入手,论证内省研究与实验研究的关系。我们提出理论建构需要实验研究来验证,没有理论基础的实验程序是盲目的。如果没有首先验证研究假设,即便是表面上看起来审慎的实验设计也存在很大的漏洞,对其产生的实验数据的阐释会大大地偏离事实。在认知语言学领域内省研究的作用不可替代,研究方法要针对研究假设,要审慎对待实验数据。

Special attention is given to the issue of the relationship between introspection and empirical studies by analyzing the influential case studies on temporal metaphors in the field of cognitive linguistics. It is proposed that theoretical construction should be based on empirical evidence. Without theo- ries, experimental procedure is groundless. Without verification of the research hypothesis, the design of the experimental procedure is risky, so is the interpretation of the results. In the field of cognitive linguistics introspectation is of great value. It is proposed that research design should be geared to the objective of the research work and the results should be subject to scrutiny.
