语言符号象似性的层级性探究

On Levels of Iconicity in Language Signs

在语言符号任意性的基础上,本文提出象似性的辖域或覆盖范围要比其大得多,并分别从语音层面、词汇层面、句法层面、语用层面加以佐证,最终得出结论:从动态的言语活动来看,语言的起源、诞生、发展和变化都离不开人脑的认知与加工,因此具备普遍的象似根基。而任意性则是脱离符号载体的名实之辨,是语言固化认知结果时囿于经济原则省力竞争的产物。即任意性是本体论上的抽象压缩,而象似性才是方法论上的拟像延伸。

The paper provides evidence respectively from phonological, lexical, grammatical, and pragmatic approaches to indicate that language in dynamic use is based to a large extent on its iconic signs, thus proving that the arbitrariness ought to be limited as much as possible in that it is only ideally involved in the internal structure of language itself while the former extends diagrammatically and functions at nearly all levels of language performance.
