摘要 Tibetan Buddhism is also known as Lamaism. Lama, which translates to "superior mentor" in the Tibetan language, is a title for Buddhist monks. Tibetan Buddhism is also known as Lamaism.Lama,which translates to"superior mentor"in the Tibetan language,is a title for Buddhist monks. In the mid-seventh century,Emperor Srongtsen Gampo (who reigned from 629-650)unified the tribes that inhabited the Tibetan Plateau.Srongtsen Gampo also created the written Tibetan language,established the Tubo Empire and made Lhasa the capital.
