The position an.d role of higher vocational education in the development of higher education increasingly received attention of the government and the industrial circle. This paper discusses the position and role of higher vocational education in the construction of the great power in higher education, development strengths and opportunities inthe construction of Westem China vocational colleges and how to innovate the school - nmning model and personnel training mode in Western China vocational colleges, and proposes the scientific development strategy to Western China vocational colleges for reference.
