We Need What Kind of Open University

开放大学是上个世纪70年代高等教育的一项创新,被视为20世纪后半期教育界的最大突破。与传统大学最大的不同是:开放大学没有入学门槛,宽进严出,并在学习时间、地点和方法上给学习者提供极大的便利。虽然我国目前还没有开放大学,但探讨和分析开放大学的内涵及模式却很有必要。

The Open University is an innovative in the field of higher education in 1970s; it differs from traditional universities that there are no entrance requirements, but with requirements for graduation. It provides learners with great convenience in learning time, place and methods. Therefore, it is considered as the greatest breakthrough in the education sector in the latter half of the 20th century. Although China doesn＇t have Open University, but the concept and practice of Open University have been widely recognized.
