摘要
古代读书人做的是"为己之学",其目的是完善自己的人格,成为一个"有斐君子"。当今大学的评价激励机制是在鼓励大学教师做"为人之学",其结果是学术腐败、自我迷失。重塑大学教师的君子人格,首先要为大学教师做为己之学创造必要的生活条件;其次要为大学教师做为己之学营造宽松的学术环境。
Ancient Chinese scholars learned for themselves in order to perfect their personality and become learned gentlemen.Nevertheless,current university evaluation system in China merely encourages faculty to conduct research for the sake of others,thus resulting in corruption and self-loss prevalent among scholars.To help rebuild faculty’s gentlemanlike personality,university authorities should provide them with necessary living conditions as well as academic environment conducive to learning for oneself.
