Evaluation of PAN Yue's Personality

在对潘岳的评价上应注意两个重要的方面:首先要分清前期下僚时期和后期的他,明白他人品问题主要出在其后期;其次,对他后期的人格表现,不能笼统将其完全归咎于他自身,必须考虑他所处的现实政治生活环境的影响,因为任何一种人格形态都是内外两种因素共同作用的结果。只有从一种动态变化而非机械僵化的人生观出发,潘岳一生的行为才能得到合理的解释。

There are two important aspects attached towards the evaluation of PAN Yue＇ s personality： his personality was distinguished into two stages, which had problems mainly in the latter stage; and PAN Yue, himself, was not the only factor attributing to his personality performance, his real political and living environment was also the factor because any personality pattern is the result of both internal and external factors. Only in a dynamic outlook, PAN＇ s behavior of his life can be explained appropriately.
