Reflection on Lakoff's Theory of Metaphor

来考夫(Lakoff)的隐喻理论作为认知语言学的重要组成部分,有其理论建构的积极意义。但是,隐喻理论的论点、论据以及论证的过程都充满了矛盾,难以自圆其说。概念隐喻是一个虚构的理论。

As an important part of cognitive linguistics, Lakoff＇s theory of metaphor has its own significance. Meanwhile, there are also many drawbacks in his argument, grounds of argument and process of argument, so that this theory can not give a satisfactory explanation about itself, and finally, the theory of metaphor is a fallacy.
