不礼貌原则视角下的英汉强势愤怒话语分析

A Discourse Analysis of English and Chinese Expressions of Furiousness under Impoliteness Principles

礼貌现象是语用学研究的一个重要内容,国内外有很多基于礼貌理论上对于语用失误和对话中违反礼貌原则的实例的研究。然而,使用礼貌原则对违反礼貌原则的冲突性话语进行分析仍有不足之处。库尔佩珀针对礼貌原则提出了不礼貌原则及其回应框架用以分析冲突性话语。文章以夫妻争吵这一特定语境为例,使用不礼貌原则对英汉强势愤怒话语及其回应进行了分析,以验证不礼貌原则在不礼貌话语分析中的作用,并探讨英汉强势愤怒话语的表达的异同。分析表明,在同样的特定语境下,英汉强势愤怒话语使用类似的不礼貌策略;从语篇的角度看,对冲突性话语的回应也呈相似的模式。

Studies of politeness is an important part of pragmatics. A great many studies have been done to explore pragmatic failures under the principles of politeness both at home and abroad. However, the principles of politeness are far from satisfactory in analyzing discourse of impoliteness. Culpeper proposed the principles of impoliteness and a framework of its responses. This study is an analysis of English and Chinese expressions of furiousness between couples under Culpeper＇ s impoliteness principles to explore whether there are cultural differences in expressing and responding to impolite discourse. The result shows that the principles of impoliteness can be applied in analyzing both English and Chinese discourses of furiousness and the responding patterns are similar across cultures.
