Achievements and Characteristics of Historical Annotation of the Han Dynasty

汉朝时期,史注得到了初步的发展,出现了一系列的史注作品。两汉学者开始将注史视为学术自觉行为,以训解史书为主要模式,不断走向深入。虽然在汉朝时期史注还没有形成很大的声势,但它却为魏晋南北朝时期史注活动的繁盛奠定了基础。

During the Han dynasty, historical annotation achieved preliminary development. A series of works of historical annotation appeared. Scholars in the Western and Eastern Hart dynasties began to regard historical an- notation as spontaneous academic behavior with interpretations of historical books as the main mode for constant progression. Although historical annotation had not prospered on a large scale, it laid a foundation for the prosperi- ty of historical annotation in Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern periods.
