Gastric cancer pathogenesis is a multiple process wherein environmental and genetic interactions is the major factors. The individual's susceptibility to gastric caner is affected by the human body's intermal and extemal capacity to influence the metabolism of endegenous carcinogen. The mainly metabolic genes affecting the genetic polymorphism of gastric caner include phase Ⅰ metabolic genes of CYP1AI and CYP2E1 and phase Ⅱ metabolic genes of GSTM1 and GSTT1. At present, more and more researches have proved the important role of genetic polynmrphlsm of phase Ⅰ and Ⅱ metabolic enzymes in gastric caner.
