Masked hypertension and target organ damage

隐匿性高血压(MH)是高血压的一种特殊类型,较易进展为单纯收缩期高血压,其心血管疾病和卒中的发病率和死亡率与持续高血压者相近。在MH各亚型中,夜间高血压型易导致肾功能损害,清晨高血压型则是脑卒中的独立危险因素。因此,早期诊断和治疗MH可以明显降低靶器官损害,尤其是心血管事件的发生率。

Masked hypertension （MH） is a special kind of hypertension defined as normal office blood pressure with elevated ambulatory or home blood pressure. MH is easily turned to isolated systolic hypertension. The morbidity and mortality of cadio and cerebrovasvular diseases in patients with MH are similar to those with sustained hypertension. MH can be classified into three subtypes such as morning, daytime, and nighttime hypertension according to the pattern of ambulatory blood pressure. The nighttime hypertension is a susceptible factor of renal dysfunction and morning hypertension is an independent risk factor of stroke. Therefore, it is important to identify, evaluate and treat MH earlier, that may prevent the damage of target organ obviously and especially decrease the morbidity of cardiovascular events.
