Some of Chinese modem and contemporary writers who walk alone in the culturally marginal zone represent their agonies for civilization and their sentiments for humanity after the primitive divinity and natural life have been all disintegrated. They try to evoke the return of natural humanity and wizardry rituals, to recall the modem human beings belief and awe to the nature lost in reason, and to reconstruct the spiritual paradise of balance and harmony between man and nature for the purpose of remolding the national culture.
