摘要
以三苯基吡啶为中心核,周边通过酯键键连末端带有柔性烷氧基链的苯甲酰基,合成了一类新的星型液晶分子,采用偏光显微镜(POM)对这类物质的液晶性能进行了研究.结果表明:随着末端柔性烷氧基链的增长,该类化合物能呈现向列液晶相及柱相.分子中不相容部分的微观分离作用及分子间的π-π电子堆积作用被认为是这类化合物进行分子自组装呈现液晶行为的主要推动力.
A new kind of star-like liquid crystals was synthesized by taking triphenylpyridine as central core connected with three peripheral 4-alkoxylbenzoyloxy groups via ester bond.The mesophase behavior of these compounds was investigated with polarizing optical microscopy (POM).Nematic and columnar mesophases can be found in these compounds,with the elongation of the terminal alkoxyl chains.The microsegregation of the molecular incompatible parts and intermolecular π-π interaction are considered to be the main driving forces for the molecular selforganization to induce liquid crystalline properties.
