Forum for archival field is an important network community in archival field. The features of the forum such as professional for archival people, real-time interaction, wide participation are discussed in this paper. The functions are analyzed which include the propagation of archival information and knowledge, offering a network platform for communication/interaction and resource sharing , and providing a place for leisure. Then the paper points out that the orientation of the forum is to become a knowledge community for archival field.
