From the angle of philosophy, this paper gives a new interpretation of Shuli, one poem from The Book of Songs, making the point that the poem, as a philosophic one, and its three stenzas repeatedly described the author's probing the nature of life made a philosophic proposition of "who am I?" by dicussing the growth of millet, in which life noumenon was probed into repeatedly. However, in the past some historians regarded the poem indicated that a minister of Xizhou Dynasty felt depressed and worried while passing ancestral temple, and the literature world has already come to the conclusion that it displays the deep grief of the people of a conquered nation. The paper provides a new interpretation of the poem philosophically, but not a historical and literary understanding.
