China’s Regional Governance under the Perspective of Neo-Regionalism:Issues and Reflections

随着区域经济一体化的发展,区域公共问题的大量涌现,日益呼唤区域内地方政府间开展一系列双边或多边协调与合作为基本内容的区域合作。研究发现,我国区域治理不完全,区域内多元利益相关者在治理主体结构中缺位或虚位。通过新区域主义视角的评估,显示我国的区域治理实际上是缺乏治理的地方政府间合作。要促进区域经济一体化水平的提高,应该适时推动区域政府管理走向区域治理。

Along with the development of regional economic integration, regional public issues are emerging in large numbers, calling for regional cooperation between the local governments within the region with the basic content of carrying out a series of bilateral or multilateral coordination and cooperation. The study finds that in China the regional governance is not complete; various stakeholders within the region are absent or mere figurehead in the main structure of governance. Through the assessment from the perspective of neo-regionalism, it is revealed that China＇s regional governance actually lacks of cooperation between local governments. In order to promote regional economic integration to a higher level, it is necessary towards regional governance at the right moment. to promote regional government management
