大学核心竞争力是大学独有的、通过长期形成并融入大学内质中,使大学在竞争中取得可持续发展的能力系统。大学精神体现在校园文化中,因此弘扬大学精神对于提升大学核心竞争力有着积极作用。南通大学虽说刚组建不久,但南通医学院、南通工学院、南通师范学院都具有悠久的办学历史和浓郁的文化底蕴,并且这些学校都源自同一创办人——张謇先生。从某种意义上说,张謇的精神体现了南通大学的精神,因此我们要学习张謇先生的不断进取精神、爱国精神、创新精神、创业精神,从而打造出独特的南通大学精神文化,全面提升南通大学的核心竞争力。
