南皮张氏“双烈女”事件诸疑辨误

民国初年,客居天津的南皮张立、张春姊妹,早失父恃,与寡母、幼弟相依为命。当地恶霸戴富有,欺凌孤寡、"逼婚别图";直隶高等法庭徇私枉法、助纣为虐。张氏姊妹以死抗暴,舍生取义,震惊京津,妇孺感泣,时人旌称"双烈女"。①后世记述其事者甚多,然颇有抵牾,令人疑惑。现不揣陋浅,试辨之,以正本清源,亦期为方家添一攻玉之石。
