King Lear is a social philosophical tragedy by Shakespeare. The various conflicts in this play are essentially struggles between humanity and beastliness. This kind of struggles can be found not only between different characters, but also within the same character in his/her personality, and before and after changing as well. Throughout the portraying of the characters and arrangements the plots, Shakespeare presents the straggles to the readers, completes the exploration of hurmanity, and finally humanity finds its justice in this play.
