Mozi thought that justice coincided with profit while Confucians thought that they contradicted each other by the saying that "a gentleman thought about justice, while a cipher thought about profit". Mozi regarded the principle "whether it coincided with the public profit" as the standard to make a judgment and brought up such the ideas as sharing the wealth with others, makeing public profit and eliminating harm. Furthermore, Mozi realized his ideas by serving the public profit all his life.
