To Make Traditonal Day the Main Stream of Chinese Festivals——The Comparation of Qixi and St. Valentine’s Day

人们经常把中国的七夕和西方情人节相提并论,通过对两个节日在中国的现状对比分析,我们可以发现中国的七夕比西方情人节更有文化底蕴,更浪漫,感情比之更持久,而西方情人节的节日氛围远胜七夕。作者针对中国的七夕在本土的冷清现状,分析原因,最终倡导大家应该重视具有几千年历史的传统节日,保留节日固有的习俗,恢复传统节日的地位,使我们自己的节日成为中国节日的主流。

People usually mention Chinese Qixi together with Western St. Valentine＇s Day. Comparing the current situation of the two festivals in China, we may easily find that Chinese Qixi has longer history, more romantic love and deeper emotion. On the contrary, St. Valentine＇s Day has better atmosphere. What we should do is to find the reason, attach importance to the traditional day, keep down the custom, and to make the traditional day the main stream of Chinese festivals.
