The New Discussion of the Old Turkic "Suji Inscription"

《苏吉碑》属于墓志铭类铭文,其写作体系与叶尼塞河流域黠7斯碑铭有所不同。全文采用交叉韵形式。从碑文的书写特点、语法规则以及长度来看,创作者和书写者非常了解古突厥语。《苏吉碑》第一句可译为:"我为追赶药罗葛汗来到回纥之地",从所述事件推测文献的创作时间应为公元845年前后。yarγan应是后突厥核心部族三旗突厥人或鞑靼人,而不是学者们所说的黠7斯之子。文献第7、9行后半句的mar、marmna中,mar应源自叙利亚语mār,意为师傅,通常指摩尼教传播者。这也体现yarγan是摩尼教徒。文献第4、5、6行描绘yarγan的财富和家庭成员,借以炫耀自己的声名。

＂Suji Inscription＂ belongs to the epitaph posy,and its composition system differs to the Qirqiz inscriptions in Yenisei,besides it adopts the style of across rhyme.The author and carver very know Turkic from the epigraphic writing characteristics,grammar rules and length.The first sentence in ＂Suji Inscription＂ could be translated that I came to Uyghur areas because of chasing to Yaγlaqar Khan.According to this event,we would confer the time when the document was produced about in 845.Indeed Yarγan should be the core tribe in Turk or Tatar,but should not be the Qirqiz son who the scholars had consided.＂Mari＂ of ＂Mari,Mariminaca＂ at the second half sentences of seventh,ninth in the document should be came from Syria,and it means to ＂Master＂,currently denotes to Manichean propagator. Thus this also proves that Yarγan was a Manichean.The author describes Yarγan＇s fortune and familial members,in order to flaunt his reputation.
