Tracing the Original Meaning of Zhang Ju of Lv

律章句学是以自然章句为基础,确定某些律条的分合独立,从而构成一个意义相对完整的单位——"章",与之同时,是进行文字方面的断句,然后是为疏通律文所作的注说。律章句的出现与律令文本的特质相关。特殊字例及符号标识,对理解律令文本的分章断句及含义有重要意义。结合文献中对汉律章句的记载及出土简牍中的律令条文来认识汉律章句的特点,可以看出某些研究中所存在的问题。

Zhang Ju （chapters and sentences） of Lv （code） is to separate and integrate legal articles on the basis of chapters and sentences to form a unit with complete meaning--Zhang, to punctuate sentences ol these legal articles, to anno- tate the meaning of them. The emergence of the Zhang Ju of Lv is related to the characteristics of the text of laws and decrees. Some special characters and signs marked in the legal articles, written on bamboo slips in Qin-Han times are very important for the understanding of the punctuation of the law texts and the meaning of the legal articles. Referring to the historical records of the study of laws of Han Dynasty in literatures and the legal articles on the unearthed bam- boo slips, the characteristic of the Zhang Ju of Lv can be explored. The problems existing in some researches will also be discovered.
