摘要
本文首先说明电的时分多路和光的波分多路两种系统的特点。然后叙述波分多路系统对加大光纤传输容量效果良好 ,并介绍光网单元研制工作的进展情况 ,最后指出多波长光通信网将很有发展前途。
The paper begins with explaining the relative merits of Electrical Time Division Multiplexing and Optical Wavelength Division Multiplexing systems.Then,it describes the advantages of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing applications in exploiting the potentical capacity of optical fiber.The paper briefly introduces the progress made in the design of optical network elements.Finally,it predicts that the multi wavelength optical networking would have bright prospects in the future.
