赵鼎臣是北宋后期的一位文学家,所著《竹隐畸士集》有20卷传世,其文章表现出关心国事、勤政为民,对亲友感情深挚以及向往隐逸生活等思想情怀。赵鼎臣之文言语精警、见解独到,善为议论、文势纵横,融叙事、议论、抒情于一炉,体现出北宋后期的文风特质。

Zhao Ding-chen was a litterateur in later period of the Northern Song Dynasty.He has the collected works Zhuyinjishi（twenty volumes）,which have been handed down until now.His articles reflect his profound ideas of caring for the national affairs and serving the people,and show his sincere feeling of loving and looking forward to the quiet life.The language style of the articles is aggressively and persistently persuasive,exhibiting the very individual features in later period of the Northern Song Dynasty.
