摘要
《汉宫秋》是元代著名杂剧家马致远代表作之一。英文中的"autumn"与汉语中的"秋"的涵义和文化意象不尽相同。根据"秋"字在汉语古代文学作品中的常见文化内涵、《汉宫秋》作者马致远对"秋"的感怀以及该剧的悲剧性的抒情加以分析,并提出应用增译法翻译该剧名,译为"Dismal Autumnin the Han Palace"。
Dismal Autumn in the Han Palace is one of the most popular works of Ma Zhiyuan, famous dramatist in Yuan Dynasty, and it is a drama of high artistic value in hterature. But the translated term of its title is controversial. This thesis analyzes the cultural connotation of ＂ autumn＂ in Chinese, the dramafist＇s feehngs and attitude towards ＂ autumn＂ and then the tragic theme of this drama to come to a conclusion that the title should be translated with the help of Amphfication Translating Method.
