采用分布式偏振串扰检测保偏光纤环质量的研究 被引量:8

Improving the quality of polarization-maintaining fiber coils using distributed polarization crosstalk testing

摘要 提出将偏振串扰分析仪用于光纤陀螺(FOG)保偏光纤(PMF)环绕制在线检测、原料PMF质量检测、成品PMF环总体检测和热应力检测。通过对原料光纤检测,可以有效减少原料光纤固有缺陷对光纤环的影响。通过PMF环绕制在线检测,可以有效检测出光纤环在绕制中的缺陷、监控绕制张力、定位绕制光纤位置和改进绕制工艺等。通过光纤环热应力检测,可以了解骨架、光纤固化胶由于热应力作用对光纤环性能的影响。研究表明,分布式偏振串扰测量是大幅提高PMF环质量的一个有效手段。 We used polarization crosstalk measurements for fiber optical gyro(FOG) polarization maintaining fiber(PMF) coils winding process monitoring,raw PMF quality inspection,overall PMF coils inspection,and temperature induced stress determination.The raw fiber inspection can effectively eliminate the effects of fiber defects on the fiber coils.The on-line winding monitoring can effectively detect winding defects,control the winding tensions,mark important winding positions,and improve winding process.Finally,from measuring temperature induced stress,one can understand the effects of coil frame and adhesive on the performance of the coil.The results show that the distributed polarization crosstalk measurements can greatly improve the winding quality of PMF coils.
