Effect of FDI on the Employment of Host Country

以我国制造业1985—2007年数据为基础,研究FDI对我国就业的影响。研究结果表明,外商直接投资的增加将降低国内就业水平;国内资本存量变化是影响资本收益率的重要因素,国内资本存量变化对就业的影响取决于外商投资企业资本存量和内资企业资本存量的综合比较;我国劳动力供给,特别是非技术劳动力供给缺乏弹性。

Based on the 1985--2007 data of China manufacturing industries, this paper studies effect of FDI on the employment of China. Research results show that the increase of direct foreign investment reduces the domestic employment level, the change of domestic stock of capital is one important factor influencing capital return rate, but the ultimate effect on employment depends on the change of domestic stock of capital and on the comprehensive comparison between the stock of capital of foreigninvested enterprises and that of domestic enterprises, and there is a lack of flexibility in labor supply, especially non-technical labor in China.
