民国言情小说是中国社会因封闭走向开放、由传统走向现代的反映，是社会现代化的实证文本。其现代性主要体现在：对现代爱情和婚姻自由的追求；以平民的视角展示生活世相；走向现代的小说艺术形式探索。

Romantic novels in the Republic of China, a concrete evidence of Chinese society＇ s modernization, are the reflection of the process from closed society to open society and from traditional society to modern society. Its modernity is mainly embodied in the following aspects： expression of pursuing freedom of love and marriage in modern society; demonstration of living states from the angles of ordinary people and exploration of artistic forms in the process of novels＇ modernization.
