中医兴衰与现代民族国家观念的形成——从“废止中医”案到赤脚医生制度

The Rise and Fall of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Concept of Modern Nation-state——From the Abolition of TCM to the Barefoot Doctor System

近代以来,医疗领域发生的变化在很大程度上可以说明"现代中国"是如何出现的,医疗史可以看成政治史的一种表述方式。中医在1949年前后的兴衰是和民族国家观念相联系的过程。作为传统文化,抑或封建文化的残余,中医在不同时期有不同的意涵。从废止中医案到赤脚医生制度,中医的兴衰与政治运动、"国家"界限的确立密切相关。

In modem times, all changes happened in the medical field can be used to describe the emerging of ＂Modem China＂. Medical history can be used as a way of expression of political history. Around the establishment of People＇s Republic of China, the rise and fall of Traditional Chinese Medicine （TCM） is connected with the development of the concept of nation-state. Traditional Chinese Medicine had different meanings in different periods, it is sometimes regarded as traditional culture, sometimes as the representative of feudalism. From the abolition proposal for TCM in 1929 to the system of the Barefoot Doctor, the rise and fall of Traditional Chinese Medicine is closely related to the political movements and the establishment of the ＂state＂ boundary.
