摘要 对硅基环形电-光调制器的电学特性和光学特性进行了理论分析.给出环形电-光调制器的调制速率解析表达式.该表达式表明,环形调制器的光学谐振特性对于整个系统调制速率起重要的作用.分析得到调制速度和Q值及波导宽度的关系.并给出了定量的表达式,它可以用于器件特性的优化,同时从理论上指出该器件的理论极限调制速度大于10,GHz. Theoretical analysis of electronic and photonic characteristics for silicon based electro-optic ring modulator was presented. Expression for the speed of optical modulator was determined through theoretical derivation, indicating the important role of optical resonator characteristic to the speed of modulator. The result reveals modulate speed is related to Q and width of waveguide. Adopting this result, the characteristics of electro-optic ring modulator can be optimized. In addition, the speed limit of such a device is estimated to be higher than 10 GHz.
