Guizhou Plateau provides favorable soil and climate for tea cultivation and Maojian tea produced In Dujun is an exceptional tea variety. In 1912, this tea variety was displayed at the World Expo as a recommended specialty. In 2009, It was honored as one of the ten most famous Chtnese tea varieties and chosen as a designated tea variety for the Shanghai World Expo in 2010. Several counties of Guizhou Province have been officially proclaimed as "hometown of Chinese tea".
