Study on the Issue Linkage in the International Negotiations

议题联系作为一种常见的谈判行为,是国际谈判研究领域的重要议题,被众多学者所研究。本文对这些研究成果作了较为系统、全面的梳理,并对有些争论做出简要的评论。在这些研究中,讨论最多的是议题联系行为对国际政治谈判所发挥的作用,而对影响议题联系的条件,以及这些条件是如何发生作用的则研究比较少,这与国际谈判中影响因素复杂和缺乏系统分析框架密切相关。

As a common negotiation behavior, issue linkage is an important research issue studied by many interna- tional relations scholars. In the past studies, most scholars focused on how to explain the positive role of issue link- age in some certain negotiations. Some important questions such as what are the required conditions for a successful issue linkage behavior, and how these conditions function during the negotiation process, have not get enough atten- tions yet. According to the author＇s exploration, the main challenge of the issue linkage research comes from the complicated factors influencing the negotiations and the lack of systematic analysis framework in the international negotiations. This article firstly reviews the past studies on issue linkage, at the same time comments on them brief- ly, and then tries to figure out the future development trend of the issue.
