Characteristics of Plant Landscape of Buddhism Monastery Garden in China

寺庙园林是中国古典园林3大类型之一,佛教寺庙园林又是寺庙园林最重要的组成部分。寺庙的常规布局是"四合院"的形式或在此基础上的变体,大多存在一条主轴线。植物与建筑相结合,更好地烘托了宗教氛围,形成独具特色的寺庙园林植物景观。本文介绍了佛教寺庙园林的景观特色和常用的植物种类(以北京、浙江宁波为例),为寺庙园林的植物景观设计提供参考。

Monastery garden is one of the three major types of classical garden in China. Buddhism monastery garden is the most important part of monastery garden. Common composition of a temple is quad or evolution of quad. There is mostly a spindle axis in a temple. Construction accompanied with plant will emphasize religious atmosphere, and form unique plant landscape of Buddhism monastery garden. This paper introduces characteristics of plant landscape and common plants in Buddhism monastery gardens mainly in Beijing and Ningbo City of Zhejiang Province, and provides reference to planting design in monastery gardents
