On Writing Translation between Minorities’ Language and Chinese Language in Ancient Xinjiang

翻译是民族之间语言接触和文化交流的中介手段，它能增强民族之间的相互了解，促进民族语言和文化的发展。本文运用大量翔实的史料，从佛经翻译和文学及其他翻译两个方面，论述了新疆古代民汉翻译活动的发展过程，客观地反映了中央王朝与西域地方政权以及汉族与其他民族之间的友好关系。

Translation is a way of language contact and cultural exchange among nationalities. Using a great deal of full and accurate historical materials,this article expounds the developing course of translation activities between minorities＇ language and Chinese language in ancient Xinjiang in terms of Buddhist Scriptural translation,literary translation and other translations, and objectively expresses the good relationship between Central Dynasty and local political power in the Western Regions and between the Han nationality and other minorities.
