中国民族民间文艺十部集成志书被誉为中国的文化长城,在新中国60年大庆前夕全部出齐。其中的《中国民间故事集成》由钟敬文先生任主编。本文作者作为民间文学集成总编委会成员和湖北省故事集成副主编,联系故事集成这部巨著的成书经过,评述了故事集成按三性原则编纂所构成的鲜明特色,指出它是中国民间文艺学家朝向民间文艺学的中国化、本土化,将民间故事的采录选编和学理建构融为一体,以几代学人的精诚合作,将这一新兴人文学科推向成熟的标志,作出了对中华文化建设的巨大贡献。

The ten anthologies of the Chinese national and folkloric literature, which came out completely at the 60th anniversary of the People＇s Republic of China, have been praised as the Great Wall of Chinese culture. Of the ten, the Anthology of Chinese Folkloric Stories is complied by Sir ZHONG Jing-wen. The present author, as a member of the general editorial board of the Anthology and the vice--editor--in--chief of the Printing House H ubei Province, by associating the formation process of this great volume, tells and comments on the outstanding characteristics of the Anthology based on three principles. The Anthology symbolizes a transformation from the traditional Chinese folkloric literature study to its Sinolization and localization, It also integrates the recording, colleeting and selecting with the scientific principles. It is the collaborative outcome of the scholars from several generations with absolute sincerity, a symbol for propelling this new humanistic discipline into its maturity. It is therefore a remarkable contribution to the Chinese culture construction.
