Probing into the Views of Women in Lawrence and Zhang Ailing's Novels

英国著名作家劳伦斯和中国女作家张爱玲作为两位关注女性形象和男女关系的重要作家,分别在其作品中塑造出新女性的形象并不断探寻改善女性命运及两性关系的途径。他们的女性观有一定差异,但在探寻和谐的两性关系及人类的美好未来方面又存在诸多共性。他们生活在不同的国度和环境,传承着不同的文化,但他们作品表现出的对女性的关心是相通的。

Well- known British writer Lawrence and the Chinese writer Zhang Ailing, as two great writers with focus on women＇s image and male - female relations, create new image of women in their works and explore the improvement of women＇s lives and the relations between the sexes. There are some differences between the two writer views of women, but some similarities in the search for harmonious relations between the sexes and a better human future. By comparing and analyzing their views of women and its causes, this paper attempts to provide a new prospective for a better understanding of the two writers and their writing.
