父亲的姐妹称"姑"是众所周知的,但是,在江淮一带,父亲的姐妹却称为"娘娘(niāng niang)"。这种称呼不是无中生有,是有其历史文化依据的。从语音和意义上探究,从"姑"到"娘娘"有一个过渡过程。

It is well known that father＇s sister is called ＂gu＂,but in Jianghuai area,it is called ＂niāng niang＂.It is not groundless,but is based on history and culture.This paper explores how it develops from ＂gu＂ to ＂niāng niang＂ from voice and meaning.
