In this paper, the development of UV-VIS spectrometry, UV-VIS spectrometer's properiies in modern time and its use in environmental monitoring are presnted. With the improvement of UV-VIS spectrometer, computer technique and analytical method, UV-VIS spectrometry will be applied more and more in the future.
