R·胡克(1635～1702)是牛顿同时代的英国科学家。现今只因"胡克定律"而为人知,然而他从事的科学研究是多方面的,在许多领域的贡献还是创造性的。
Robert Hooke,one of the most prolific and creative scientists of all times,made foundmental contribu- tions to
physies,astronomy,chelnisty,geology,biology and meteorology.Hooke had described correctly some of the principles of orbital motion that led Newton to the discovery of Kepler's area law,and to a deeper understanding of orbital dynamics . His MICROGRAPHLA was the most important book that he produced.
