对《红楼梦》中模糊语言翻译的语用分析

Pragmatic Analyses on the Translation of the Fuzzy Language in A Dream of Red Mansions

模糊语言是文学作品的常见现象,亦是文学翻译中的难点之一。本文试从语用模糊角度对《红楼梦》中大量的模糊语言及杨、霍译本的相应译文进行分析,进而探究两种译文在塑造人物形象和展现人物艺术魅力方面与源语的不同。

Fuzzy language is a common phenomenon in literary works and it is also one of the difficulties in literary translation.This paper tries to tackle this problem from the perspective of pragmatic ambivalence,and analyze the versions of A Dream of Red Mansionsby Yang and Hawkes.The author also points out whether the strategies that the two translators applied in their respective translations are appropriate or not concerning the image-building and character charming.
