Comparison of Urban Competitiveness between Guangzhou and Several International Central Cities

Urban competitiveness refers to a city＇ s ability to agglomerate resources, to make wealth and to exert influence. From the perspectives of economic power, industrial structure, infrastructure, creativity, social development, level of internationalization, ecological environment, government administration, cultural soft power and regional interdependence, the paper compares Guangzhou with seven advanced world cities, including London, New York, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore and Hong Kong.
