The Corresponding Relationship between Aspect and Tense Concerning Realization Forms

文章在系统功能语法时态系统扩展理论的框架内,探讨语法体和时态在体现形式上的对应关系,指出首要时态、首要-次要时态、次要时态和次要-次要时态中的过去时和将来时形式同时表示语法体中的完成体,现在时形式同时表示语法体中的未完成体。语法体中的完成体和未完成体与时态一样,可以是一个序列。

This paper is a description of the corresponding relationship between aspect and tense concerning realization forms within the framework of the expanded systemic functional English tense system. It is shown that among the primary, primary-secondary, sec- ondary and secondary-secondary tense types, the past and future tense forms are the realization of the perfective aspect category while, the present forms are the realization of the impeffective aspect category, and that the perfective and imperfective aspects, like tense, can form a series.
